These axes are in seconds because they are not up to our usual very high standards.

Depicted in the Bayeaux tapestry, the Dane Axe was popular throughout the early medieval period and especially so during the Viking Age. The Chronicles tell of a single Norseman, huge in stature and wielding a mighty Dane axe who was able to hold Stamford Bridge alone, single-handedly cutting down as many as 40 Englishmen until one enterprising warrior floated under the bridge in a barrel and thrust his spear up between the planks of the bridge, putting an end to the mighty axeman. Always remember to look out below!

This particular example features a waxed hardwood haft and an iconic spurred and pointed head typical of the latter end of the Viking Age. This axe has an incredibly satisfying heft to it that makes it easy to understand how it dominated the medieval battlefield!

The Trollkors range offers a straightforward, no-nonsense approach to axe smithing using historical axe smithing techniques and little to no machinery. This results in an affordable, authentic, solid, hand-finished axe with a rustic hand hammered finish.
