About the Prize: The 15th Century Two-Handed War Sword
The War Sword is a two-handed design from the early 15th century, the era of plate armour and great battlefield blades. Despite its size, the hardwood grip and elongated scent-stopper pommel make the long blade surprisingly easy to handle. At over 1.5m long, with a 104cm blade, a 47cm grip and a weight of around 3.4kg, it's by far the largest sword we've ever had in the shop, and it makes a jaw-dropping display piece. It comes with a scabbard and a semi-sharp edge. It's a must for medieval history fans, HEMA enthusiasts and anyone who wants a truly monumental sword on the wall. As it's high-carbon steel, keep it dry and oil it regularly.
