This Viking Sword honours the design of excavated swords in Europe, primarily 9th and 10th century three-lobed sword finds in Germany and south Scandinavia. Three lobe Viking swords have a central lobe that is always the largest. Nimble and powerful, these cut and thrust swords were typically used for fighting in close formations with a shield in the offhand.
