The native Algonquians in early America created the tomahawk; they would use stones attached to wooden handles, secured with strips of rawhide, which were usually general purpose tools. The tomahawk quickly spread from the Algonquians to the tribes of the South and the Great Plains. When Europeans arrived, they introduced the metal blade to the natives, which improved the effectiveness of the tool. Metal did not break as readily as stone and could be fashioned for additional uses.
This Hawk axe is aptly named due to it's Tomahawk appearance. It is custom leather wrapped, it is fully functional, sharp, and absolutely made for purpose. It comes in at a whopping 18inch long, on an ash haft, with a polished high carbon steel head.
