Formal Sgian Dubh - Seconds
In seconds due to scratch on blade.
This Sgian Dubh is based on historical specimens of the time. The brown hardwood hilt is carved in a basket weave pattern with metal nails for added decoration.
The Sgian Dubh evolved from a larger Scottish dagger that was normally concealed under the armpit. It was common practice when visiting friends to remove this dagger from its hiding place and insert it in the top of your sock so that is could be seen at all times. Sgian Dubh translates as “Hidden Knife” in the old Gaelic language.
