Starting life as a farming tool for raking the ground, the Karambit has evolved in history to be one of the weapons of choice for the Minangkabau people of West Sumatra where, according to folklore, it was inspired by the claws of a tiger.
Formed from Damascus billet by our independent smiths, these Karambit's distinctly show the contrasting bands that are iconic of Damascus steel. The flowing patterns of Damascus emerge from the pattern welding of several layers of steel, each pattern dependent on how the smith works the billet, resulting in each billet being entirely unique. Our knives are supplied with a sheath of real waxed and stitched leather. A truly stunning show of craftsmanship all round.
This is our new and improved version of the Karambit - thanks to the feedback of our fantastic customers, we've increased the circumference of the ring by approximately a third, as well as increased the total length by 10cm. In addition, we've included plain steel variants to our collection as well as Damascus. We have 5 different handle variations: Buffalo Horn, Serpentine Resin, Rosewood, Wenge Wood, and Black Micarta.
